New partnership with the City of Troutdale brings an affordable, hassle-free river float experience to the Columbia River Gorge

Troutdale, OR — Sasquatch Adventures has announced the launch of a new tubing and shuttle service on the Sandy River, made possible through a partnership with the City of Troutdale and a Travel Oregon grant. Beginning Memorial Day weekend, visitors and locals alike can float one of the Gorge’s most beloved stretches of river without the logistics of a traditional self-guided float.

How It Works

Tickets and tube rentals are available at the Sasquatch Adventures store on a first-come, first-served basis. From there, a dedicated shuttle bus transports floaters from the store to Dabney State Park, where the float begins. The river carries them downstream to Glenn Otto Park, where the shuttle picks them up and returns them to the store. The entire operation is handled by the Sasquatch Adventures team — guests just show up and float.

Guests who prefer to bring their own tubes are welcome to do so and may purchase a shuttle-only ticket.

Pricing

  • Shuttle only: $10/person
  • Shuttle + tube rental: $19/person
  • 4-pack (shuttle + tube): $60

A $200 deposit is required for tube and life jacket rentals. Replacement fees apply for lost or damaged equipment: $150 for tubes, $50 for PFDs.

Season & Schedule

The tubing adventure service runs Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, operating Saturdays, Sundays, Memorial Day Monday, and Labor Day Monday. The first shuttle departs at 11:30am with hourly runs through 6:30pm. The last tube rental departure is 4:30pm.

Safety

Life jackets are provided for all participants and are required on the water — adults must take one along for the float, and children must wear theirs at all times. All participants are required to sign a waiver. Children who cannot comfortably span the tube hole must ride on a parent’s lap.

Water shoes and sunscreen are strongly recommended. Sunscreen, sunglasses, and dry bags are available for purchase at the store.

A Community Partnership

This service was made possible through a partnership between Sasquatch Adventures and the City of Troutdale, funded in part by a Travel Oregon grant — reflecting a shared commitment to making the natural beauty of the Columbia River Gorge more accessible to everyone.

The wild and scenic Sandy River is one of the most beautiful floats in the Pacific Northwest, and we can’t wait to share it with more people. This has been a long time coming, and we’re thrilled to finally make it happen. – Kent Krumpschmidt, Owner & Operator of Sasquatch Adventures
