Sasquatch Shuttle Tackles Multnomah Falls Parking Chaos with Stress-Free Transportation and Smart Solutions
July 28, 2023 [back to News Articles]
For decades, visitors to Multnomah Falls—Oregon’s most visited natural attraction—have faced the same problem: traffic congestion, overflowing parking lots, and long delays along the Historic Columbia River Highway. But a local business, Sasquatch Shuttle, is working hard to change that experience with reliable, stress-free transportation and better parking solutions.
Founded by Kent Krumpschmidt and Alan Dayley, Sasquatch Shuttle operates a consistent shuttle loop between Multnomah Falls and the Columbia Gorge Premium Outlets in Troutdale, giving guests an easier way to reach the falls without the headache of circling for a parking spot or sitting in gridlock.
While the drive from the Outlets to the falls is only a short trip down I-84, the true value lies in avoiding the nightmare of peak-season traffic. Krumpschmidt, a former sheriff’s deputy with firsthand experience managing the area, saw how dangerous and frustrating the old system could be — vehicles idling for hours, illegal parking, pedestrian safety risks, and even blocked access for emergency responders
The shuttle itself runs daily throughout the summer, with pickups about every 30 minutes. Riders are invited to sit back, enjoy the view through panoramic windows, and spend as much time as they like at the falls—knowing their vehicle is safe. Pets are welcome, and ADA accommodations are available with advance notice. The company also offers a longer scenic tour that includes Latourell Falls, Horsetail Falls, and Vista House, giving guests a richer glimpse into the Columbia River Gorge.
Sasquatch Shuttle doesn’t just move people—they’re actively improving how visitors experience the Gorge. By reducing traffic, enhancing Multnomah Falls parking, and supporting safe access, the company has played a vital role in making the “Waterfall Corridor” more enjoyable for everyone.
