If you’ve driven through the Columbia River Gorge during peak season, you know how overwhelming the traffic and parking near Multnomah Falls can get. To help ease the congestion and provide a better experience for visitors, Sasquatch Shuttle has introduced new parking updates that prioritize both access and sustainability.

As of May, a new paid parking system is in place at the small Historic Highway lot directly across from the falls. Managed by Sasquatch Shuttle, the lot now charges between $5 and $20 per vehicle, depending on the time and day. Payments can be made on-site through newly installed machines.

But there’s more than just paid parking—Sasquatch Shuttle is offering something better: a stress-free alternative.

🚌 Why More Visitors Are Choosing Sasquatch Shuttle:

  • 🚗 Free parking at the Columbia Gorge Premium Outlets in Troutdale, with shuttle service to Multnomah Falls for just $5
  • 🕐 Shuttles run every 30 minutes from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., daily from May through September
  • 🐾 Pet-friendly rides for well-behaved dogs
  • 🧒 Kids 3 and under ride free
  • ♿ ADA-compliant service and parking available
  • 🎟️ If you park in the Sasquatch lot, you don’t need a timed-entry permit
  • 🌲 Optional Waterfall Loop Tour for extended Gorge adventures (sold separately)
  • 🌿 A focus on sustainable tourism and keeping the Gorge accessible for future generations

“The free shuttle service between Bridal Veil and Multnomah Falls parking lots is a pivotal component of our transportation strategy,” said co-owner Kent Krumpschmidt. “Our ultimate goal is to eliminate that traffic.”

Since then, Sasquatch Shuttle has updated its operations and now departs exclusively from the Columbia Gorge Premium Outlets in Troutdale, offering visitors a free, convenient place to park before hopping on the shuttle to Multnomah Falls and beyond.

As a former sheriff’s deputy in the Gorge, Krumpschmidt saw firsthand how severe the traffic backups and safety issues could be. Sasquatch Shuttle’s new system is designed not just to manage parking, but to improve safety, reduce delays for emergency services, and give visitors a smoother, more enjoyable trip.

And while the new meters are still under review by the U.S. Forest Service and Multnomah County, Sasquatch Shuttle continues to operate with the community in mind—focused on long-term solutions to long-standing problems.
